Connie Schneider, Youth, Families, & Communities Director, cschneider@ucdavis.edu, (530) 754-8518 The Director provides statewide programmatic leadership to both, the 4-H Youth Development Program (4-H YDP) and the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP), as well as other ANR youth, nutrition, family and community programs. Connie oversees the administration and management of the YFC Statewide Office. She provides leadership in resource management, chairs the Senior Leadership Team, and collaborates with campus departments and extension specialists.

Shannon Dogan, Youth, Families, & Communities Associate Director of 4-H Program & Policy, sjdogan@ucdavis.edu, (530) 754-8518 The Associate Director provides leadership to implementation of the California 4-H YDP. Shannon is responsible for creating and implementing strategic ways and programs to support growth and development of volunteers and staff. Ms. Dogan provides leadership and oversight to 13 4-H advisory committees, the three 4-H mission mandates; 4-H Science, Engineering & Technology (SET), 4-H Healthy Living, 4-H Citizenship, 4-H Thrive and 4-H Military Partnership Programs. She is also responsible for the development, interpretation and implementation of UC policies related to 4-H YDP and oversees the development of new 4-H policies.

Her job responsibilities also include daily administrative functions of the State Office. Carrie can best be described as the heart of our Youth, Families, & Communities office.

Her 4-H experiences have influenced her and continue to inspire Whitney as she provides key support to staff members in every county 4-H office. Whitney also oversees administrative support to the entire state office.

Science, Engineering, & Technology (SET) Steven Worker Program Coordinator, smworker@ucdavis.edu, (530) 754-8519 Steven has been a member of 4-H since 1991 in Santa Barbara County and founded the 4-H Technology team. He coordinates professional development, program planning, curriculum development and partnerships to improve youth science literacy. Steven also chairs the 4-H Technology Leadership Team Advisory Committee.

Healthy Living Mandi Bottoms Program Coordinator, mlbottoms@ucdavis.edu, (530) 752-4359 As a credentialed educator, Mandi has 8 years experience designing, evaluating and publishing curriculum related to gardening, nutrition and food production. Responsible for the statewide 4-H Healthy Living Initiative, Mandi provides programmatic leadership for curriculum and resource development, trainings, and evaluation related to healthy living.

Youth, Families, & Communities: Military Partnership Russell Hill Program Director, rdhill@ucdavis.edu, (530) 752-8585 Russ Hill has been a 4-H member, project and community club leader, and county program representative before working for the State Office. He has served in many community roles related to summer camps. Currently, Russ provides programmatic leaderhip for resource management, outreach, military youth camps, and military family events. Russ also chairs the 4-H Military Partnership Advisory Committee.

Crystal O'Hara Program Representative, crohara@ucdavis.edu, (530) 757-8968 Crystal provides program support to 4-H military staff across the state. She contributes to positive youth development by planning, implementing and delivering educational programming to 4-H military children. Crystal is also responsible for providing resources to Military families and outreach for the 4-H Military Partnership Program.

Jeanne Christenson Program Representative, jpchristenson@ucdavis.edu, (530) 219-6608 As part of the Operation Military Kids (OMK) program, Jeanne manages and facilitates babysitting trainings for military youth across the state. For Jeanne, being able to help youth members learn a new life skill while having fun at the same time has been personally rewarding.

Berney DeLaCruz CA Operation Military Kids (OMK) State Coordinator, bdelacruz@ucdavis.edu, (661) 868-6227 The OMK seeks to serve geographically disbursed military dependent children and youth who live away from an active duty base. Berney, a U.S. Air Force veteran manages this project across the state. Berney builds local, regional and state support networks that help encourage military dependent youth. Examples of partnerships include local 4-H clubs, veteran groups, faith communities, business owners and others.

Youth, Families, & Communities: 4-H Thrive Gemma Miner Program Coordinator, gmminer@ucdavis.edu, (530)754-8517 Gemma provides programmatic and operational management to the 4-H Thrive delivery model. She also coordinates the thrive leadership team to offer additional direction to the 4-H Thrive initiative. Gemma has extensive experience in developing youth development trainings for staff, volunteers and youth. She has been in the field for 28 years.

Scott Mautte Program Representative, scmautte@ucdavis.edu, (530)752-9388 Scott plans, implements and delivers educational programming for the 4-H Thrive initiative at the state level. He provides support to volunteers and master trainers. He is a committed ally and agent of youth development. This has led him to work with young people for over 20 years.

Susan also provides the EFNEP Statewide Program professional development and assists in trainings across the state.

She seeks a wide range of support from 4-H alumni, 4-H leaders, current and former 4-H families, volunteers and other community members. Amy is also responsible for creating and implementing an engaging statewide alumni program that reconnects with many former 4-H members throughout California.

Working in collaboration with state 4-H program staff, county offices, 4-H advisors, and the National 4-H Council development team, she identifies funders whose interests are aligned with 4-H’s programmatic priorities: science literacy, healthy living, and citizenship; in order to strengthen and expand our existing programs and to develop new and innovative initiatives that will impact 4-H members and volunteers throughout the state of California.

This includes processing all gifts made to the California 4-H Foundation, transferring donor designated funds to 4-H programs and managing the donor database.
