4-H Camps
4-H camps are county-based 4-H programs that foster healthy living in the outdoors. Camp programs provide opportunities for youth to gain skills that help them thrive and succeed. Through the outdoor experience youth can discover a new spark, establish a willingness to try new things, and develop qualities of Positive Youth Development.
Ranging from overnight to multiple-day programs, camps engage youth in social events, recreational pursuits, and training workshops. Among a myriad of other activities, 4-H campers might be seen canoeing, crafting, or hiking. All camp styles and activities provide unique opportunities for participants while focusing on the Mission, Core Values, and Framework of the California 4-H Youth Development Program.
4-H camps differ in each county depending upon location and available resources. Each facility that is used will have its own unique amenities, such as swimming pools, fishing ponds, water fronts, recreational activities, campfire amphitheater, and more.
