Project Areas

For over 100 years, the 4-H program has focused on growing youth who thrive through science, engineering and technology; healthy living; and citizenship. These focus areas clearly describe program priorities nationally and provide state and county administration with the framework to organize and focus their program development, management, and implementation strategies. The broad scope of these three areas allow youth to develop skills in a variety of arenas, creating well-rounded and knowledgeable citizens.
  1. Science, Engineering, and Technology (SET): agriculture and life sciences, family and consumer resource management, technology, engineering
  2. Citizenship: civic awareness, community service, leadership in youth organization and community agencies/organizations
  3. Healthy Living: nutrition, physical health, safety, mental health
